Superleigh Supports Compassion In Action Toy Appeal

untitledSuperleigh were delighted to support local charity Compassion In Action’s 2016 Toy Appeal over the festive period.

Superleigh’s Christine Brown and Jonathan Simpkin paid a visit to Compassion in action to hand over a number of toys which had been donated to the cause.

Compassion in Action is a registered charity and meets the needs of people in crisis with provision of furniture, food and clothes, accommodation, skills training, education and advocacy.

The Charity began back in 2006 as a coffee morning at St Mary’s church hall, Lowton – creating a meeting place for young mums, elderly residents and those seeking friendship and support. Due to the amount of people who attended, it was established that a greater need for support in the community was required.

Compassion In Action meets the needs of people in crisis with provision of furniture, food and clothes, accommodation, skills training, education and advocacy.

Since then Compassion in Action have continued to meet the needs of those in crisis and have developed Borough-wide.

A spokesperson from Compassion In Action said.

“We are overwhelmed with the toy and food donations we have received this year from local organisations, businesses, and members of our community.

“You have helped us put presents under the tree of over 450 children in the Wigan Borough this Christmas. For this we would like to say a heartfelt thank you on behalf of Compassion in Action and the vulnerable families we support.”
